I couldn’t have known you from all sides

I am the cuckoo butterfly,
I caught the chubby wee man’s eye.
He took his glass and cardboard square
And saved my life right then and there.
He threw me to the daytime sky,
Believing in my cuckoo lie –
Despite not eating wool or cloth,
I am, in fact, a humble moth.
